Number of five-star rooms in Vietnam’s capital up 3 pct in Q2

HANOI, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) — The number of five-star rooms in Vietnam’s capital Hanoi rose by 3 percent in the second quarter of 2024 compared to the first as many four-star properties upgraded, VnExpress cited property consultancy Savills on Tuesday.
The capital now has over 11,000 hotel rooms across 67 projects, said the firm in a recent market report.
The average hotel occupancy rate during the cited period in Hanoi was 67 percent, up 2 percentage points from the first and 3 points year-on-year, according to Savills.
Mauro Gasparotti, director of Savills Hotels, was quoted by VnExpress as saying that hotel and condotel businesses were capitalizing on the rebound in tourism to rebrand or develop new projects to boost their competitiveness and market share. ■
