Beautiful 1951 Sunday Best

A lovely redhead in one of Vogue’s desirable early outfits.
Her vibrant red hair is lush and thick, styled in a classic side part. She has lovely rosy cheeks with no rubs, and big dark brown eyes that open and close easily. Her lashes and brows are very light tan. Her body is clean and undamaged, with consistent color and good stringing.
She wears her “Sunday Best” from the 1951 Frolicking Fables series: a satiny pale pink brocade dress trimmed with white lace, plus an adorable little cape with a blue ribbon tie and sprigs of flowers. The matching bloomers have excellent elastic. All pieces are clean and undamaged; there is no rust at the hook and eye, but the dress has a very teeny brownish speck just above that area. Barely visible and doesn't show under the cape, but must mention.
The hat, as many of you will know, is not correct for this outfit, and the low initial bid reflects this. Sunday Best should have a lace-trimmed bonnet made of the same fabric as the dress and cape. I thought the outfit needed a hat, so I gave her a pretty straw bonnet from the 1952 Beryl outfit, with a lacy edge that looks nice with the trim on her dress.
Her outfit is completed with pink socks and white centersnap shoes that have darkened slightly with age, but are in very good condition.
