We are offering in this auction a somewhat rare to find original factory Vogue Factory  Ginny doll replacement wig in its original canister.  Includes the label that has instructions on it, tube (most likely dried and not usable anymore due to age) and the caracul lambs wool wig.   This is the caracul lambs wool wig Vogue used on their early strung 1951-53 dolls.  This has never been used and is still in very good condition.  If you look inside you will see this wig is the original and not one of the recreations. The center seam inside where it is sewn is machine done by the factory (we tried to hold it open to show but was hard since it was folded and in the original container all these years).  The very nice ones that were being made by a talented Ebayer several years ago were hand sewn and we are offering a few  of them that we got from this collection in other auctions,  so please check them out.
Look closely at our photos here you can see the machine stitching that is inside, it is a center seam all the way down.  We don't want to do a lot of handling or folding to turn it inside out and chance damaging as this is lambs wool and the skin is soft and flexible but it is machine sewn.  Care always should be taken when using as to not tear the leather skin itself.  We were unable to take a full shot of the underside of the wig, but tried  to zoom in on a small section and hopefully you can see this in our photo where we show the stitching.   Vogue issued this wig as a replacement besides it being used on their dolls that they offered originally.  They produced extras and put them in the same containers as their shoes/skates they sold only added a label stating the contents; a great vision by Vogue knowing that  they certainly would be purchased and get used.  How lucky one was back then to be able to purchase the extra caracul wigs and today you may find one now and then but not often as they are a bit rarer than others.   This comes in its original plastic Vogue cannister with label and the silver tube of glue (no longer usable but there) and wig.  The wig is a
strawberry blonde
with soft curls.  Color may show some slightly lighter and darker areas threw out.  Once you put it on your doll, best to then fluff it with a soft toothbrush that will bring back the original fluff and fullness from being packed.  There are no tears in the skin base of the wig.   Cannister and top may show a bit of age wear but not bad and we did have to remove the lid which wasn't easy to show the wig and examine it for condition.  We have stuffed it for the pictures but put it back in the container but will leave the lid half way on; this way you can decide if you are going to use it easy to get out of container or store it way we'll leave the lid for you to close fully.    Care has to be taken when putting these wigs on from what we have been told as it is real skin wig and not a synthetic wig and you have to gently form it to the dolls head.  Those of you who have re-wigged a doll know exactly how to do it.  We do not replace wigs; don't have the talent or patience to do it properly, so we would not be a good guide relating to the "how to"; only passing along the little information people have shared.  There are instructions on the label but some of you know how to do it and take the care needed and use the proper glue.  We'll leave that all to the new owner and hope that a beautiful doll that needs a wig will finally have a great new look or you can get it to have on hand as they don't come up to often, especially this pretty strawberry blonde color.   Would make  a nice display item with other accessory pieces that Vogue offered for these adorable early dolls too if you didn't need to use it right away but nice to have on hand.
Please take a close look and see if this is something you can use or would like to even use them for display.  It is nice sometimes to have a display with some of the extras that Vogue offered for these dolls.  They thought of everything.  Including over worked, and cut Ginny doll wigs that would need a replacement.  We are selling this wig as pictured and described, final sale; rarely seen offered.
