It was given to me in 1987, and it was an antique at that time, but I don't have a more precise date for when it was made.

It has black handles that turn on an axle (i.e., the pin is not all one piece). At the end of each handle is an unpainted end cap that's stationary. The ends of the body of the pin, near the handles, are slightly concave.

The roller area is 10 ½" long, and each handle is
approximately 3 ¾" long, for a total of
18". It's about 2 ½" wide (circumference is about 8"). It's a sturdy pin, weighing 1 pound 6 ½ oz.

I haven't done anything to clean or restore the pin because I wanted to let the buyer determine its look. It rolls nicely, and the handles turn freely. It has a narrow surface crack & some darker and lighter spots on the body of the pin. There are places on the handles where the black paint has worn off. There is also some lighter-colored wood near the handles where the stain has rubbed off in a circular pattern from use by the previous owner, I would guess. One handle has a small indented place, and the other has a short crack near the base. The endcap on one of the handles has a small chip.
