Paper stocks are no longer being issued. All stock transactions are processed digitally. Therefore, a very finite supply of surviving stocks from the 20th Century is becoming rarer every day.
Coins, stamps, and currency are all issued in the millions, but the average stock issue was only in the thousands. Strick rules put in place by the SEC between the 1980 and 2000 led to the complete destruction of the vast majority of issued stocks, making the ones offered today even more special and rare.
NO ISSUED CANCELLED STOCK DATED AFTER 1999 IS LEGALLY ALLOWED TO BE IN PRIVATE HANDS! IN FACT, EVERY SUCH STOCK WAS OR WILL BE DESTROYED UNDER FEDERAL LAW!
This means that vintage stocks issued before that will increase in collector value over time. There are just too many people and too few stocks.
When they are not producing them anymore and they are not then what is left usually goes up in price.
It is a law of economics to many dollars chasing too few items.
Every stock certificate is beautifully engraved via the intaglio method (using steel plates), most by the American Bank Note Co. or its affiliates. The designs are etched right in the paper, not merely printed on top of it, and many certificates are in the art deco style.
The stock certificates are in clean, crisp condition with minor signs of routine handling such as pinhole cancels in the side margin or an occasional pen mark.
All stock certificates are guaranteed to be the original document.
